We wanted to get an early start today since we have lots and lots of driving to do. We left the hotel at 7:30am and did not find something to have really breakfast, but bakeries and the market were open. That allowed us to get coffee and buy pretzels, as well as fruit. And..most importantly, we could do our Bavarian ‘change mission’, were we needed to change our ‘red house’ from Seiffen into something with the color lilac.. we received a heather plant.
Another weekly to do was to find an 80+ year Fritz to spend time with us. Claudia invited her dad to do a zoom call with us this morning, it worked well and we talked happily with Fritz!

Driving to our first task, we lost our big Elkie sign.. stupidly enough, I had put it inside the car at night to avoid that it gets stolen, but the rain and wet car was not sticky enough for the magnet.. once we drove a bit faster, we lost it. Radio Plassenberg, the Kulmbach radio station promised to talk about it and to see if the finder gives it back.. we assume it fly off our car and stuck as the big magnet on a car behind us. Or something like it.. we’ll see! Driving to the Schneeberg, 1051m high’ in rain and fog, not too much fun.

Our next task is to visit the Bavarian forest (Bayrischer Wald) to drive from Roetz to Viechtach via Cham and Bad Koetzing. A long the way we found today many teams taking pictures in the same spot as we did.

The Detour mission to Passau…a German city on the Austrian border, lies at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers. Known as the Three Rivers City. A picturesque old town where we decided to spend time on a quick lunch despite the many hours we have to drive today. We also took the opportunity to accomplish our mission of the day to wear a Dirndl and dance. In addition we mastered another one of todo's for the week to be featured in a local newspaper. Ines invited the Passauer Neue Presse to do an interview with us and it is already live on the website and in the paper tomorrow!
Up to the next stop, another panoramic road, the highest in Germany the Roßfeldpanoramastraße .. . The road brings you right into the awesome high-alpine mountain world of the Berchtesgaden countryside. Passing the Obersalzberg. Doing this end of the day, with rain and fog limited our view drastically. Not too much fun and we were happy to get to our hotel in Bad Reichenhall.
