Day 6 - Jupiter's Flash

From Napoli to Amalfi

Another early start with a beautiful breakfast overlooking the fortress in Napoli. Our intention was to leave the hotel early to join fellow really members at the Pompei camping ground for a late breakfast with Thüringer Würste... well it turned out to remain an intention...

When checking out, the doorman informed us that our car wouldn't start... what a way to start the day. However they were very friendly and organized some jump start cables and a taxi to help us start the car but nothing happened... we phoned Hardy, the amazing mechanic of the rally, who suggested to load the battery for longer... But again nothing happened... after spending nearly an hour in the garage trying to find a solution we sent Hardy a video of the situation who said that the battery had an automatic blockage and that we needed to start the car with the second key ... et voilà off we went..

Since the Thüringer Würste were no longer an option, we headed straight to the Amalfi coast where we had never been before... it is a beautiful as everybody tells... Traffic was also as adventurous as expected but thank God Ines was driving.

We checked into our hotel around 1pm, headed to the rooftop pool and had a light lunch with some wine to make up for our morning excitement 🤣

Late afternoon, we went to discover Amalfi... getting some gelato and buying Amalfi lemons and limoncello...

Then beautiful, beautiful dinner at our hotel terrace overlooking the bay... after some Apérol Spritz, we had a catch of the day (fish was on our food bucket list) and some nice wine. We also got to witness a 'spontaneous' engagement of two New Yorkers in this wonderful setting...
