Driving from Zurich to Hamm.Muenden: we started this morning at 8am to get our stuff into the car and ready to roll. This is our first day together in the car and it was very enjoyable.. To our surprise, not too much traffic despite a Friday and a holiday weekend in Germany with celebrating the 30th anniversary of the German reunion. We quickly got to the border of Switzerland / Germany, passed through the Stuttgart highway network w/o traffic jump (a first for me for many years..), and decided to do a lunch off the highway to get good food. We stopped in a small town in Franken, and enjoyed Chanterelle with 'Semmelknoedel', a German dumpling we all love and crave for. Got to the rally start point in Hamm. Muenden already at 2:30pm, did our shopping for water, wine and fruit, walked through a lovely little town with beautifully renovated houses that are more than 600 years old. Hann. Münden is a town in Lower Saxony, in the district of Göttingen at the confluence of the Fulda and Werra rivers, which join to form the Weser. It has about 24,000 inhabitants.

We took a stroll through town and met at a brewery in the middle of town with all the other rally teams that arrived already today for tomorrow's start. Following Corona rules, not more than 5 people at a table, wearing masks.. we actually were very happy to be able to be outside and have a nice beer and dinner, typical for a brewery.. bratwurst and fries and Flammkuchen. We met a few teams, driving the same car as we.. another Swiss team and a Belgium team, mostly the teams are from Germany. Many of them did SAC rally's in past years and told us a few stories what kind of challenges they had to face.

So.. we are quite excited to get to the start and receive our roadbook tomorrow morning to learn where we will go and what tasks to master.

Our evening.. warming up with a Grog before we head to the hotel
